VAT Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Specialist to join our Airbus Portugal GBS team. As a VAT Support, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct application of VAT rules in our accounting books, working closely with our HQ Tax, General Ledger accounting, and Financial Systems teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the focal point for VAT topics within the AGBS team, ensuring seamless communication with other teams.
- Develop and deliver VAT trainings for the AGBS team, focusing on AR/AP processes.
- Secure accurate treatment of incoming/outgoing invoices from a VAT standpoint.
- Conduct weekly VAT bookings controls, identifying and correcting errors, and ensuring invoices are formatted correctly.
- Manage the application of VAT codes in P&L accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Lead the review of VAT numbers' validity for customers and suppliers.
- Perform accounting extractions in coordination with the accounting general ledger team and recover related invoices when necessary.
Requirements:
- Excellent leadership and attitude, with a strong ability to create a positive team environment.
- Proactive and organized, with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Junior accountant with VAT expertise, willing to develop specific VAT skills in the 4 core countries of Airbus.
- University degree in accounting, with a good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in ERP systems (SAP), with a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.
- Dynamic, autonomous, and responsible, with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, research, and resolution skills, with advanced English written and oral skills.
- Notions of French would be a plus.
