Job Description:We are seeking a Global Trade Compliance Expert with a focus on continuous improvement to join our team. As a member of the Global Logistics Services (GLS) team, you will be responsible for orchestrating processes and aligning standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for import/export across different regions.
This is a global, remote position that can be based in various locations, including The Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Finland, United Kingdom, or Ireland. You will have the opportunity to work from a local office or manufacturing site for one or more days a week, with minimal international travel required.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and tactical stewardship for global trade compliance systems and processes to assigned markets, partners, and stakeholder groups. You will develop and maintain knowledge of world-class import/export practices for translation to business optimization and efficiency opportunities.
In this role, you will drive to 100% compliance with laws and regulations for import/export under a LEAN mindset. You will work closely with regional experts across Technology, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Transportation to develop a global sustainable compliance process.
To succeed in this position, you will require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Trade, Global Tax, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, as well as at least 5 years of experience in an import/export role with knowledge of trade compliance processes and the interplay with global supply chain.
You will also need knowledge and experience in at least one of the following regulatory environments: Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and/or Health Care. International trade business acumen, including tariff classifications, customs valuation, license management, preferential origin determination, and free trade agreements background, is essential.
A strong understanding of ERP trade data maintenance (HS Classifications), Sanctioned Party List Screening, and import/export compliance program management is also desirable. Additional European language skills are considered a plus.
