The Bosch unit in Ovar belongs to the Building Technologies division, bringing solutions to the market that shape the smart cities of the future. With about 1.200 employees, its success lies in the highly specialized and innovative team and technological know-how.
We are seeking a Digital Experience Architect to play a critical role in defining and implementing the technical strategy, structure, and direction for frontend development. As a key member of our team, you will guide the design of scalable, user-friendly, and highly performant web and mobile applications while ensuring alignment with business objectives and modern development practices.
You will be responsible for deploying your architecture into the development team by mentoring developers. You will produce and maintain clean architecture and actively manage Technical Debt. This role requires a deep understanding of frontend technologies, frameworks, and user experience (UX) principles, coupled with leadership and mentoring abilities to drive best practices across the development teams.
Key Areas of Responsibility:- Define the overall frontend technical strategy, including technology selection, toolset, and development frameworks.
- Collaborate with backend, application, and embedded SW architects to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
- Create software architecture in modular, easy-to-maintain, and extendible parts, keeping re-use in mind (Clean Architecture).
You will be expected to make transparent technical choices versus requirements and trade-off scenarios and document design decisions. Identify high-risk technology areas and define mitigation actions. Take conscious decisions on handling Technical Debt, guiding and mentoring frontend engineers in writing maintainable, scalable, and efficient code, ensuring architecture and architectural rules, coding standards, and best practices are followed.
We offer a competitive salary of **€85,000 - €110,000 per year**, depending on experience, as well as flexible work conditions, hybrid regime, exchange with colleagues around the world, health insurance, medical office on site, training opportunities, access to great discounts in partnerships and Bosch products, sports and health-related activities, and free parking lot.
A successful candidate will have minimum 8+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on frontend technologies. Experience in a lead or architect role designing and implementing large-scale frontend applications is required. Key skills include expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors like Sass or Less, knowledge of React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar modern frameworks, experience with design systems, reusable component libraries, and working with design tools, performance optimization using tools like Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, and Webpack, version control using Git, and familiarity with automated testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, and frontend testing tools like Selenium and Cypress.
A university education in computer or software science at Master level or equivalent experience is required. Strong communication and presentation skills, problem-solving, creative thinking, and ability to assess risks in a structured manner are essential.
