Senior backend Java developers are sought after to lead system evolution projects at Alium Consultancy Ltd. This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to define architecture and ensure best practices are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership in system evolution projects.
- Define architecture and scalability strategies.
- Develop and optimize new functionalities.
- Enforce best practices for coding, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support and mentor junior developers.
- Collaborate with frontend teams when necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of backend software development experience with Java.
- Experience with more recent Java versions, above 17.
- Strong expertise in Spring and Spring Boot.
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito).
- Experience with messaging systems (Kafka).
- Strong DevOps knowledge (Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines).
- Fluency in Portuguese.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of frontend development (Angular or React).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Kibana).
Tools and Technologies: SonarQube, Kibana, Jenkins, JUnit, Mockito, Kafka.
Soft Skills: Leadership, mentoring skills, and strong communication.
Location: Porto or Lisbon (Portugal)
Working Model: Hybrid (2x/week)
