We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Lead for our automation systems team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects and lead a team of software engineers in the development of PLC-Software.

About the Role

As a Software Development Lead, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and integration of our PLC Sorter Library. You will also consult with the PLC Engineering team during the design and commissioning phase and facilitate knowledge transfer between the development and engineering departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve our software library using agile processes.
  • Ensure the successful commissioning and testing of software during the development phase at either PLC internal simulation, customer test centers, or site.
  • Provide consulting services to project managers during the design phase, software engineering, commissioning, and integration.
  • Develop customer-specific solutions aligned with the library.
  • Sustain and optimize the interface between software parameterization processes and software generation toolchains.
  • Support the conversion of existing customers from S7 Classic to S7 TIA.
  • Implement and emulate software using 'Digital Twin' solutions.
  • In some cases, site visits may become mandatory for new software developments.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrotechnics or Automation Technology (or similar) and have experience as a technical team lead in software engineering and/or commissioning/integration. Proficiency in TIA-Portal, SW Engineering, and software architecture is essential, along with advanced knowledge of profinet, asi-bus, profibus, CAN Bus, Ethernet TCP-IP, drive technology (Siemens/SEW), and Siemens Fail Safe programming.

You should also have good understanding of IT infrastructure, high-level controls, and networks, as well as knowledge in HMI technology using WinCC, OPCUA communication between TIA PLC and plant SCADA systems, and emulation software. At least 3 years of experience in commissioning complex automated plants is required, and Allen-Bradley knowledge is an asset.

A strong ability to work in an international team, excellent communication skills, stress resilience, and a strong commitment to reaching business goals are necessary. Additionally, mobility to support worldwide customer projects is required.
