The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows / Linux server landscapes and virtualization software, both in the cloud and in local data centers.

About the Role:

The Server Administration and Infrastructure Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and services. This includes configuring, administering, maintaining, and monitoring Windows / Linux server landscapes and virtualization software.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure, administer, maintain, and monitor Windows / Linux server landscapes and virtualization software, both in the cloud and in local data centers.
  • Develop solutions to emerging problems and document lessons learned.
  • Lead first sub-projects and provide targeted support in larger complex projects.
  • Further develop the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in close cooperation with the development teams (in-house development).
  • Discuss the requirements from the production sites with the IT-DEV team and test them together after implementation.
Requirements:
  • A successfully completed degree in computer science/business informatics or an apprenticeship (IT system computer scientist/administrator) with many years of work experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in server administration and network support in an internationally operating company.
  • Skills in working with Linux, Windows servers, and various scripting languages.
  • First experience with virtualization, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, automation of deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Good knowledge of technologies like MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and Cosmos DB.
  • Basic knowledge about Kubernetes, Azure Arc, and other cloud applications.
  • A structured, independent, and result-oriented way of working.
  • Very good team skills as well as a customer and service-oriented way of thinking and working.
  • Good written and spoken English skills; German skills are an advantage.
