We're seeking a Rheumatologist to join our diverse and dynamic team at ICON. As the Medical Director within Rheumatology, you'll play a pivotal role in providing medical leadership and strategic direction to support the development and execution of clinical research programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing medical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams on the design, implementation, and interpretation of clinical trials.
- Serving as the primary medical liaison with investigators, key opinion leaders, and regulatory authorities to ensure scientific integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contributing to the development of clinical study protocols, investigator brochures, and other medical and scientific documents.
- Reviewing and analyzing clinical trial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with medical monitors, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure the safety and ethical conduct of clinical trials.
- Providing medical input and support for publications, presentations, and regulatory submissions.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with board certification in rheumatology; advanced degree (e.g., PhD) preferred.
- Several years of experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related field within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research industry.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience as a Medical Monitor would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific data and make informed decisions.
- Commitment to quality, integrity, and ethical conduct in medical affairs activities.
- Ability to travel.
