Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant & Customer Quality Engineer to join our team at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and meeting customer requirements.
- Key Accountabilities:
- Support the quality of assigned products and ensure compliance with customer needs and requirements.
- Understand and implement effective quality control processes to meet internal and external reporting metrics.
- Provide guidance and feedback to quality technicians, auditors, inspectors, and other staff in problem-solving activities.
- Support the start of new projects and products by developing and implementing quality plans.
- Improve product quality by identifying opportunities for change and recommending improvements.
- Support customer visits as a plant representative when required and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Manage costs associated with quality assurance of assigned products and update customer portals accordingly.
- Assure the reliability and consistency of production by monitoring processes and comparing output to requirements.
- Report and escalate major quality issues to ensure immediate action.
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
- Maintain records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation.
- Communicate with external quality assurance officers and customers during on-site inspections.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Engineering.
- At least two years of experience as a Plant Quality Engineer or Customer Quality Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis.
- An in-depth understanding of technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good analytical skills and numerical understanding.
- Certification in Quality Assurance is an asset.
- Minitab user skills are also desirable.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Results-oriented approach.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
- Team spirit.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese languages.
