Job Description: Academic Psychologist

We seek a dedicated and accomplished academic psychologist to join our team of exceptional educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in psychology, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of this fascinating subject.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspiring Students
    The ideal candidate will have the ability to build trust and confidence with students, creating a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity and enthusiasm for psychology.
  • Curriculum Delivery
    The academic psychologist will plan and deliver lessons aligned with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP Psychology curricula, ensuring students grasp key psychological theories and concepts.
  • Tailoring Learning to Individual Needs
    The successful candidate will differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, providing support and guidance to help each student achieve their full potential in the subject.
  • Effective Classroom Management
    Maintaining high standards of behaviour and discipline, the academic psychologist will create a productive and respectful learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Assessment and Feedback
    The ideal candidate will utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure students meet challenging academic targets.
  • Pastoral Support

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • A relevant degree in Psychology or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching psychology at the secondary level, including familiarity with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula.
  • A proven ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a passion for psychological studies and encouraging critical thinking.
  • Strong classroom management skills, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
