About the Role

Headhunt International is seeking a highly skilled Lead Clinical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Dublin. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to individuals with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment results, utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions.
  • Provide therapy sessions to clients, both one-on-one and in group settings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and document client progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and holistic care, participating in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Make clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases, arranging and carrying out assessment and treatment programs in line with local policy and guidelines.
  • Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to clients and relevant others as appropriate, documenting all assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical notes according to department and professional standards.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supporting and supervising staff, prioritizing and allocating work, and promoting positive staff morale.
  • Manage, participate in, and contribute to the practice education of student therapists, engaging in teaching, training, and supervision as required.
  • Engage in planning and performance reviews with the Clinical Director, contributing to service developments by monitoring and evaluating emerging needs and trends in consultation with team members.
  • Develop the role of the Senior Speech and Language Therapist and the service through planning, audit, production of standards, continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and research.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registered with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist in Ireland.
  • Dysphagia qualification to accredited level by IASLT.
  • Three years of full-time post-qualification clinical experience working with adults.
  • At least one year of full-time experience working within a Neuro-disability setting or a Mental Health setting with adults.
  • Clinical proficiency in the assessment and treatment of adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions relevant to the role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of €50,000 - €70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including access to ongoing professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
