Job Description
The position of Backup Service Administrator at DataSmart Lda requires:
- Administering the Backup Service, managing Veritas NetBackup, OpsCenter, IT Analytics, SAN Switches, IBM and Quantum robots, and DataDomain VTLs.
- Performing installation, maintenance, upgrades, updates, debugging, and troubleshooting issues and failures.
- Providing customer support and resolving client service requests.
- Accurately documenting all requests and applied solutions.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring backup service reliability.
- Managing reporting, capacity planning, automation, and scripting for service optimization.
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians to find the best solutions.
- Understanding and correctly applying escalation processes.
- Handling multiple requests simultaneously (multi-tasking).
- Contributing to process optimization and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with backup technologies, particularly Veritas NetBackup (v8, v9, and v10).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience working with IBM and Quantum robots and DataDomain VTLs.
