Estate Manager and Operations Coordinator

The British Embassy in Lisbon is a hub for UK interests abroad, employing professionals who drive diplomacy and trade. We seek an exceptional Estate Manager and Operations Coordinator to oversee the management of our estates portfolio. This role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in estates management, financial planning, and team leadership.

About the Role

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in managing budgets and procurement, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, able to negotiate effectively and deliver results under pressure. Strong communication skills and IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel, are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the estates team, overseeing operations, supplier performance, contracts, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement policies, guidance, and monitoring standards for estates management.
  • Manage estates-related budgets and forecast expenditure monthly.
  • Source residential properties and oversee their preparation for officers' arrival.
  • Plan, measure, and monitor estates performance against set targets, preparing reports as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficient spoken and written English (C1 level CEFR framework) and Portuguese.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in estates management, with financial management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with ability to negotiate effectively and deliver results under pressure.
  • Proven people management skills, capable of leading a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with good IT skills (Microsoft Office and Excel).
What We Offer

The British Embassy offers a competitive salary, estimated at €45,000 - €55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
