**Job Description**

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of History to lead our History department at King's College School, Cascais. Our school offers the Cambridge International curriculum and will introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading the History department and overseeing curriculum development, teaching standards, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality education
• Designing and implementing a comprehensive History curriculum aligned with Cambridge International and IB standards, fostering critical thinking and historical inquiry
• Delivering engaging and challenging History lessons to students from Years 7 to 13, ensuring excellence in academic outcomes across all levels, including Sixth Form
• Developing and administering assessments that accurately measure student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs and preparing students for top examination performance
• Mentoring and supporting History teachers, facilitating professional growth and promoting best practices within the department

**Key Responsibilities**

We are looking for someone who can:

• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and contribute to the school's academic initiatives
• Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities related to History, such as history clubs, competitions, and field trips

**Salary**

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
