About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Gallery Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Madradora. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the gallery's daily activities, exhibitions, staff, and relationships with artists, collectors, and the community. Your expertise will ensure a clean, organized, and professional environment, while developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:- Manage daily gallery operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and professional environment.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate exhibition planning, installation, and deinstallation, including documentation, labeling, and presentation of artworks.
- Manage client relationships and oversee social media and email newsletter scheduling.
- Plan and execute gallery events, such as openings, artist talks, and educational programs.
- Maintain accurate records of artworks, including condition reports, provenance, and sales.
- Manage the gallery database and archive, ensuring up-to-date and precise documentation.
- Oversee artwork shipping and handling, ensuring proper care and compliance with regulations.
- Manage insurance coverage for art transport and liaise with insurers as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for new exhibitions, collaborations, and partnerships.
- Represent the gallery at art fairs, exhibition openings, and other events.
