The Role
This Data Governance Specialist will be part of the Europe Data Team, supporting the delivery of new Data Management practices using the Informatica platform. The ultimate objective is to create robust analytics solutions with strong governance. As part of the wider European Data Strategy, this role offers an opportunity to shape the path and deliver outcomes while contributing to current commitments and business-as-usual activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyzing data quality issues reported by Hiscox teams and resolving them at the source.
- Identifying and analyzing BAU changes impacting business mappings according to business requirements.
- Maintaining and implementing changes on the Data Management tool based on data quality rules, business glossary terms, and metrics.
- Monitoring jobs execution on the Data Management tool to ensure correct updates of catalogues and validating data quality process scores and profiling results.
- Implementing data governance processes and workflows to orchestrate data entry, validation, and approval using data governance tools (Informatica) for policy compliance and change awareness.
- Ensuring data compliance and usage control in collaboration with the Europe Privacy team.
- Contributing to a unified view of business concepts across regions/business teams by identifying and reporting inconsistencies in definition or calculation.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a similar field. A background in Data & Analytics roles (2+ years), preferably in Data Management (e.g., Data Quality), is required. Additionally, knowledge of SQL or analytical/reporting tools is necessary for data analysis. Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential. Key personality traits include being a motivated self-starter who can work autonomously, add value in a team, and possess a passion for finding ways to improve data management. You should also have a can-do attitude, be open to new ways of working, and have excellent customer relationship management skills. Experience in Business Intelligence, Data & Analytics, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
