About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a primary school student with autism, enrolled in the CP4 pathway. As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, this role involves providing individualized academic assistance, adapting materials and instructions to align with the student's learning style and abilities.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans tailored to the student's needs
• Providing individualized academic assistance, adapting materials and instructions to align with the student's learning style and abilities
• Utilizing tools such as visual aids, sensory resources, and assistive technology to enhance learning experiences
• Monitoring and documenting the student's progress, contributing to the achievement of Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals
• Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the student to foster engagement and well-being
• Implementing behavior management strategies as outlined in the student's Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
• Recognizing signs of sensory overload or distress and applying appropriate interventions to support self-regulation
• Encouraging positive interactions and the development of social-emotional skills

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents are essential. Patience, empathy, and adaptability to support diverse needs in a dynamic educational environment are also required.

Salary and Benefits
This freelance opportunity offers a competitive salary of €45,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
