About the Opportunity
This Senior/Manager Risk Model Validation position at EY presents an exciting chance to work with esteemed clients in the financial services sector, utilizing your technical expertise and client-facing experience to deliver high-quality risk management services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies for financial institutions, emphasizing efficiency and quality.
- Support clients in creating robust governance models, policies, processes, and procedures, aligning with local, national, and global requirements.
- Evaluate and interpret data with a risk management focus, assisting in establishing, monitoring, and evaluating key performance indicators.
- Support the implementation of regulatory requirements and guidelines, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
- Design and develop Probability of Default and Loss Given Default risk rating models for commercial and corporate borrowers.
- Develop time series Stress Test models to support capital planning initiatives.
- Monitor and validate performance, analyzing data using SQL, SAS, and other tools, and presenting results and recommendations to Credit Risk Management.
- Contribute to impairment model analysis and participate in regulatory risk assessment exercises and independent reviews.
- Identify risk and improvement opportunities, understanding and adhering to clients' risk and regulatory standards.
- Escalate risk-related issues to management as needed and support team management.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, leading by example and contributing to the development of the FSRM team.
- Understand EY's service lines and assess ways to serve clients effectively.
Qualifications:
- Academic degree in Management, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in risk management analysis and projects, preferably in banking.
- Knowledge of local and international banking regulations affecting models and rating systems.
- Relevant experience in developing or validating end-to-end statistical models, including credit IRB, IFRS 9 provisioning, and stress testing.
- Knowledge and experience in PD/LGD/EAD modeling or validation.
- Good knowledge of risk model development and validation techniques, industry-wide modeling practices, and trends.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R, VBA, and others.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments and communicate fluently in English and Portuguese.
