We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician to join our team at Fciências.ID, Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the environmental characterization of areas established for offshore wind energy generation infrastructures.
About the ProjectThe EÓLICAS OFFSHORE project aims to carry out an environmental study to support the development of offshore wind farms. This research involves collaborating with the project team, collecting and processing phytoplankton samples, analyzing data, and compiling results into databases.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the project team to design and execute sampling campaigns
- Collect and process phytoplankton samples aboard the campaigns
- Analyze phytoplankton samples in the laboratory
- Compile results into databases and participate in statistical treatment
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a MSc degree in Biology or a related field and meet the following requirements:
- Experience in data treatment and analysis
- Proven experience in laboratory activities in the field of biology or related areas
- Relevant scientific and/or professional training in phytoplankton
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
This is a full-time indefinite duration fixed-term employment contract with a gross monthly salary of 1,385.99 Euros. The contract is expected to start in January 2025 and last for approximately 18 months. The work will be developed at the Research Center MARE-ULisboa in Campo Grande, Lisboa, Portugal, with regular visits to IPMA in Lisbon.
