We're seeking a senior lawyer to join our Legal & Compliance team, providing legal support and strategic advice to business operations.
The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional with a proven track record in managing complex projects, developing internal procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on loan and securities agreements, which form the foundation of our crowdlending services.
- Provide support to various teams on daily operations, particularly the Risk, Commercial, and Operations Departments.
- Review and develop internal procedures and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage external lawyers, based in Portugal and other jurisdictions, for litigation, regulatory matters, corporate, and labor law.
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues from other departments.
- Demonstrate business acumen, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and proactivity in your work.
About You:
- You must hold a Law Degree from a reputable Portuguese University, with a minimum grade of 13+.
- Be a Portuguese resident.
- Have 3-6 years of experience in a law firm or the legal department of a company.
- Have experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements in Portuguese and English.
- Possess advanced command of English, enabling you to work effectively in an English-speaking corporate environment.
- Holding relevant in-house experience and experience in the banking & finance sector is highly valued.
- A domain in Spanish is also preferred.
Hiring Process:
The hiring process consists of several stages: CV Screening, Screening Interview, Interview with your Manager, Interview with the CEO, and potentially a case study/challenge stage if needed.
