Ventata Ltd is seeking a skilled Postgres Database Administrator to join our rapidly growing team. As the first dedicated database administrator, you will play a crucial role in shaping our database strategy and taking ownership of our PostgreSQL databases. With a strong focus on performance, scaling, and future-proofing, you will optimize existing architecture and queries, resolve bottlenecks, and improve overall efficiency.
The ideal candidate has expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, including performance tuning, query optimization, and replication. Previous experience with large-scale databases (2TB+) and hands-on experience with databases hosted in major cloud providers are also essential. A proven track record of designing scalable, highly available database architectures and strong understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance are also required.
As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will work closely with engineers to ensure smooth integration with our company's infrastructure as code environment. You will also design and implement database data export automations for various use cases and develop strategies to scale the database as the company and data needs grow. In addition, you will suggest and implement efficient strategies for connection pooling and provide guidance on database design, indexing strategies, and SQL query optimization.
