About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior 3D Character Artist to join our team at Frogwares. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D character models, textures, and animations that meet both artistic and technical requirements.
Job Description
In this role, you will work closely with the Creative Director, concept artists, and animation team to translate 2D concepts into fully realized 3D characters. Your expertise in Unreal Engine, including asset integration, shader development, and optimization, will ensure seamless performance without compromising quality.
You will implement and test character models within Unreal Engine to guarantee compatibility and maintain high visual fidelity. Additionally, you will work with the narrative and game design teams to align character aesthetics with story and gameplay needs.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you must have:
- 4+ years of experience as a 3D Character Artist in the gaming industry
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine, including asset integration, shader development, and optimization
- Expert skills in ZBrush, Maya/Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
- Experience with Marvelous Designer for creating realistic clothing
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, character proportions, and facial expressions
- Demonstrated experience in PBR texturing techniques
- A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality character models, with at least one AAA or AA project experience preferred
- Familiarity with rigging and skinning characters
