Job Title: Social Lead Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Lead Strategist to join our team at VML South Africa. As a key member of our social media team, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that drive business results and engage our global audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the creation of social media strategies, social playbooks, activations, and campaign ideas.
  • Direct and synthesize research, social listening, and other data to guide a brand's strategic decisions.
  • Partner with creative, strategy, data, and media teams to define and achieve a brand's social marketing goals.
  • Supervise and guide content development to ensure content fosters community and brand love, while also supporting lead generation and product adoption at the business level.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee social media campaigns, including user-generated content, influencer programs, and real-time activations.
  • Identify and surface insights from community behaviors, mentions, and 1:1 interactions relevant to the brand.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of social marketing experience.
  • Advanced understanding of social platforms, audiences, and behaviors, and the ability to make sound decisions based on that knowledge.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of social media to effectively solve a wide variety of client challenges.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in a wide variety of formats and settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizations, departments, teams, and individuals.
