Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and exceeding guest satisfaction, managing maintenance department resources, and supervising preventive and curative maintenance of Wilde premises and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop relationships with customers while addressing complaints and resolving issues in conjunction with the Front Office/Operations Manager and/or General manager.\
  • Manage maintenance department resources and optimize team work by drawing up and coordinating schedules according to need.\
  • Supervise and participate in preventive and curative maintenance of Wilde premises and equipment, promoting and contributing to setting up internal measures for environmental protection.\
  • Ensure proper use of IPE by coworkers, manage stocks and purchasing of equipment and supplies for the department, and assist the General Manager in drawing up budgets for maintenance and capital investment.\
  • Approve work performed and ensure that costs are reasonable and in line with budgets, ensuring compliance with current safety procedures and controlling the condition of the building, technical equipment, and all safety and alarm systems in the residence.\
  • Maintain contact and establish agreements with external preventive maintenance companies, ensuring knowledge of all relevant legal systems and maintenance regulations in Portugal.\
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately.\
  • Certification/Qualification in air/electrical systems may be an advantage.\
  • Ability to work shifts covering weekends and, if necessary, night shifts.\
  • A basic knowledge of English.\
  • Previous knowledge of safety, health, and the environment in a similar environment (3 years).\
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-organize.\
  • Ability to manage teams.\
  • Ability to communicate with all members of the team and guests.\
  • Our ideal Maintenance Manager will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\
  • The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\
  • Hours of Work: It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be required to work shifts covering weekends and, if necessary, night shifts.\
