Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based SQL and NoSQL databases running on AWS and Alibaba Cloud. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, high-performance databases on cloud platforms.
- Database Operations: Participate in operating databases, managing performance, availability, security, and data integrity.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency.
- Data Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Cloud Platform Management: Manage and optimize AWS and Alibaba Cloud databases, leveraging their native services and features.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Prepare regular reports on system performance and improvements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong hands-on experience with database technologies on AWS (e.g., Amazon RDS, MongoDB) and Alibaba Cloud (e.g., ApsaraDB for RDS, Table Store).
- In-depth knowledge of database design principles and architectural patterns for large-scale, cloud-based systems.
- Experience optimizing database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies.
- Familiarity with data security best practices, encryption methods, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
