As a Staff Engineer at Datadog, you will be responsible for enabling the entire Agent Organization to develop and deliver high-quality Datadog Agent releases by improving our CI platform, tooling, processes, and coding throughout. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the security, resilience, and scalability of the Agent supply chain.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create and drive high-priority projects that increase the Agent supply chain's security, resilience, and scalability.
- Identify potential system risks and design solutions to address them, implementing these solutions collaboratively with partner teams.
- Provide a best-in-class platform for development, testing, building, and release of the Agent, supporting its growth and welcoming new products and engineering teams.
- Guide architectural decisions and lead other engineers through mentorship and coaching.
- Contribute to both short- and long-term planning, prioritizing engineering-led initiatives, and product roadmaps.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record of leading large cross-team initiatives in environments where security, speed, and reliability are first-order concerns.
- Hands-on experience with supply chain related projects, such as CI systems, release management tooling, and Linux/macOS/Windows packaging.
- Able to bring best practices from across software engineering and adapt them to the Agent.
- Possesses strong mentoring and coaching skills to help engineers grow professionally.
