Decentralization Coordinator
Há 5 dias
At Obol Association, we are dedicated to building a trust-minimized infrastructure layer for web3. Our team of 30+ members is driven by a vision to establish a credibly neutral and decentralized Ethereum network.
We work on distributed validators (DVs), which boost the security, resilience, and decentralization of the Ethereum network. Our goal is to create a more secure and censorship-resistant environment for all users.
Company Overview:
Obol Association is a Swiss-based organization located in Zug, Switzerland. We aim to support the Obol Collective, a community dedicated to scaling Ethereum through the development and deployment of distributed validators. Our mission is to finance and support research and development activities in the field of distributed software, particularly consensus systems, threshold signature schemes, and blockchains.
About Governance
The Obol Collective governance system has two primary goals: capture resistance and resource allocation. Governance plays a key role in securing the anti-capture and censorship resistance of the DV protocol. It also allocates resources effectively to support the Collective's vision and accrue sustainable value to the Obol Collective.
We are governed by two houses, the Agora and the Obol RAF. In the Agora, $OBOL holders submit, deliberate, and vote on various types of Obol Collective governance proposals. In the Obol RAF, $OBOL token delegates allocate funds to projects and teams from the Obol Collective that provide value through retroactive funding (RAF).
Your Role:
We are seeking a Decentralization Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our governance team, you will oversee the submission process for governance proposals, ensure they meet required standards, and facilitate the review and feedback phase. You will also manage the transition of proposals from draft to final stages and maintain a transparent record of all proposals and their outcomes. Additionally, you will be responsible for onboarding and training new delegates, providing support and addressing issues, monitoring delegate activity, and optimizing governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Management: Oversee submission coordination, review process, voting cycle management, and tracking and reporting.
- Delegate and Senator Management: Onboard and train new delegates, provide support and engagement, monitor activity, and optimize processes.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve governance processes, integrate tools, and document governance manuals and codes of conduct.
- Community Engagement: Communicate with the community about governance activities, proposal statuses, and upcoming votes, establish feedback mechanisms, and lead educational initiatives.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need hands-on experience with DAO governance platforms and familiarity with on-chain governance protocols. You must have proven remote communication skills, project and stakeholder management experience, and social media coordination skills. Conflict resolution and diplomacy skills are essential in navigating complex community dynamics. English proficiency is required, and ideal time zones are GMT-2 to GMT+3. The estimated salary for this position is €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Benefits include fully remote working, flexible hours, annual global offsite, generous paid time off, budget for education/training, and budget for equipment. If you are passionate about decentralization and governance, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
