The Data Architecture Lead will be responsible for building and guiding a team of Data Architects who enable technically translated business requirements into analytical products, helping to bring new insights alive. This role is at the forefront of our transformation journey to become a data-driven company in the future.

We're seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead our data engineering team in driving the energy transformation. As a key member of our Siemens Energy Data Analytics & AI team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical implementation and accountability for strategy and execution. Your profile should include:

  • Extensive experience leading data architectures and data-related initiatives, as well as leading a data operations team.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of data acquisition, data modeling, and analytics.
  • Extensive experience in data & analytics and data architecture and at least 3 years of experience as a team leader.
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of database and data warehouse modeling.
  • Experience developing streaming and batch data pipelines for cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Experience with streaming frameworks (e.g., AWS IoT stack) and hands-on experience with modern software development tools.
  • Extensive experience in data analytics and the ability to slice and dice data as needed.
  • Experience with cloud providers in data architecture (AWS).
  • Knowledge of data warehouses that support analytical workloads.
  • Extensive and in-depth experience working with ETL.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of data architects focused on leveraging data and information across SE to improve data-related operations and gain risk-related insights.
  • Driving technical implementation and accountability for strategy and execution.
  • Determining the scope of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for upcoming initiatives and outlining the future roadmap for enhancements and potential improvements.
  • Collaborating with data owners on planning and execution of key initiatives.
  • Overseeing the performance and quality of integration pipelines created in close collaboration with the data integration team.
  • Driving architecture design and discussions with guidance from the teams.
  • Promoting data literacy towards visualization through self-service capabilities for end users.
  • Advocating for modern software development methodologies and championing Scrum and SAFe.
  • Conducting code reviews and ensuring teams adhere to appropriate standards.
  • Documenting and presenting methods, procedures, and project deliverables to senior stakeholders in various functions.
