About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Ovar, Portugal. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accounts analysis and reconciliations, maintaining and updating our general ledger and chart of accounts, and preparing financial statements.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough accounts analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and update our general ledger and chart of accounts in both group and local GAAP.
  • Compile and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare and report monthly and yearly tax declarations, including VAT, IRC, and IES.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities and propose accruals and closing entries.
  • Support during external and internal audits.
  • Check documents and make accounting entries in our ERP system (SAP).
  • Review financial documents for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Systematize the archive of accounting documents and reports.
