Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to oversee the modernization of backend systems while ensuring seamless business operations. The ideal candidate will design and develop scalable solutions using modern frameworks and AI technologies, optimize large-scale MariaDB databases, and mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the modernization of backend systems, ensuring seamless business operations
  • Design and develop scalable solutions using modern frameworks and AI technologies
  • Optimize large-scale MariaDB databases for enhanced performance and maintainability
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming
  • Define and implement engineering best practices, including testing, version control, and coding standards
  • Balance technical debt reduction with fast-paced feature developments
  • Architect new API services following modern design patterns
  • Implement agile methodologies to streamline development processes
  • Work closely with project management to align technical roadmaps with business goals

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in software development
  • 2 years of experience mentoring junior developers
  • Fluency in both English and Portuguese
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and working with large-scale databases
  • Track record of successful system transformations
  • Understanding of API design patterns
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with PHP and Python frameworks as well as implementing AI/ML (nice to have)
