We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our team at Buscojobs Portugal. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Portuguese accounting regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely submission of tax filings and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure effective financial planning and cost control.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Accountant qualification (Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados - OCC) in Portugal is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing in Portugal.
  • Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory; additional languages are an asset.
