About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Blade Features Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. in driving the energy transition and providing innovative solutions for the wind industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of advanced blade features, focusing on plastic add-on components such as aerodynamical gadgets and covers.
  • Take ownership of developing and implementing technical design, conceptualization, simulation, testing, documentation, and technical risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with blade designers, process engineers, aerodynamics specialists, and suppliers to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Provide comprehensive support across the value chain, from procurement and supplier qualification to production implementation, product and fleet quality management, and customer communication.
  • Drive technical risk management efforts, including FMEA analysis, structural verification, and validation processes, establishing design standards and integrating them into receiving products.

Requirements

  • Masters or PhD degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, Maritime, or Wind Energy.
  • Technical and analytical mindset with a strong drive to expand expertise in advanced modeling of failure modes specifically in the design and integration of plastic components.
  • Experience in component design with a background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling.
  • Proven track record in working with production environments.
  • Ability to drive tasks actively at a high standard, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player mindset.
  • Excellent English skills, both orally and in writing, are essential in our international team.
