Radiology Technologist

This role performs diagnostic radiography examinations to support physician diagnoses and patient treatment. The position may involve operating more complex imaging modalities.

• Conducts radiography exams on patients, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols: prepares patients for the exam, takes vital signs, explains the procedure, administers IVs or contrast when necessary, positions patients correctly, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures image quality.
• Enters and monitors patient data accurately.
• Performs routine maintenance on radiology equipment and assists with accreditation applications.
• Identifies and reports any incidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
• May be required to take emergency calls within the department, work weekends, and float to other locations as needed.
• May administer breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens.
• May handle patient registration tasks such as verifying insurance, collecting payments, etc.

• A graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
• Current Texas Medical Board (MRT) license or temporary permit.
• Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely with others.
