Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a group of talented Engineering Managers, fostering a high-performance culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Billing Product Leader to define the strategic vision, roadmap, and priorities for Paddle Billing, ensuring alignment with the overall company objectives.
- Drive engineering excellence across the group, championing best practices, promoting knowledge sharing, and ensuring there is a culture of delivery and accountability.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance, to ensure smooth communication, alignment on dependencies, and successful delivery of initiatives.
- Scale and grow the group by collaborating with Talent and People teams to recruit and onboard new engineers and managers, ensuring the group's structure and headcount align with business needs.
- Oversee the technical strategy for Paddle Billing, ensuring the development of scalable, reliable, and secure systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
- A passion for developing people and extensive experience leading and mentoring Engineering Managers.
- A proven track record of success in a Director of Engineering role or similar, with experience leading multiple engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A deep understanding of software engineering principles, practices, and processes, with experience in building complex, large-scale, cloud-based systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across different teams and departments.
- A strategic thinker with a strong understanding of business needs and the ability to translate them into technical solutions.
- Passionate about building and scaling high-performing engineering organisations, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
