We are seeking an experienced Senior Metabolic Engineer/Strain Developer to join our team at CarboCode's Portuguese site. In this key role, you will play a vital part in articulating the group's projects, collaborating with academic institutions, and driving the reconstruction of existing metabolic pathways while pioneering new ones. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing known expression systems into suitable chassis, contributing to the development of new expression systems for proprietary molecules, testing and refining newly developed strains, and articulating the metabolic engineering team's projects.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A PhD in a relevant field
• Over 5 years of experience in metabolic engineering
• A strong research-oriented background
• Proficiency in heterologous gene expression
• Expertise in metabolic pathway reconstruction
