About Us: Sentido Galo Resort Madeira, a 202-room resort comprising two hotels on the picturesque island of Madeira, is part of the renowned DERTOUR group. Our hotel bar offers an à la carte menu, while our Restaurant Ondamar showcases innovative dishes.
Job Summary: We seek an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and create exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum based on experience, depending on qualifications and performance in the Madeira region.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will work closely with our F&B Director to develop strategies for the F&B department, creating innovative menus and dishes for buffets and à la carte options. This role requires someone who can ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation, as well as lead the team from the front by training and mentoring them.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of prior experience in hospitality culinary management
- Advanced international culinary skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills
- Creativity to design new menu items and their presentation
- Proactive forward thinking
- Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering, and inventory
