Certified Surveyor

DNV, a leading provider of maritime classification and certification services, is seeking a highly skilled Certified Surveyor to join our Newbuilding team in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

We are looking for an experienced professional to perform new building surveys on passenger ships according to rules and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth project execution, proactive communication with shipyards and owners' representatives, and certification of materials and components under class and non-class related systems and processes.

• Perform new building surveys on passenger ships according to rules and regulations.
• Ensure smooth execution of projects in collaboration with the Project Manager and site PTMs.
• Proactive and smooth communication with the shipyard and owner's representatives.
• Certification and verification of materials and components under class and non-class related systems and processes.
• Manage a group of customers and interact with colleagues from all over the world to follow up on their needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Masters/Bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical/marine engineering (or other relevant disciplines).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime industry.
• Excellent written and spoken business-standard English.
• A valid driver's license.
