Quality Assurance Automation Role



NielsenIQ is a leading provider of market research and data analytics solutions. As part of our Technology Center in Portugal, we are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our core market research application. This will involve:




  • Responsible for the Product Quality of Major features & Minor Releases.
  • Understanding requirements and scope.
  • Identifying inconsistencies and gaps in requirements and communicating with Product Owner.
  • Serving as a Quality Assurance Engineer on teams that will execute projects from beginning to end, including working with product management, gathering requirements, brainstorming solutions, testing final applications.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the architecture of the platform and product features.
  • Maintaining complete functional knowledge of the product.
  • Creating and executing manual functional test cases.
  • Identifying test cases for automation and discussing the most efficient type of automation for identified cases.
  • Designing, creating, and executing automated functional test cases.
  • Designing, creating, and executing automated non-functional test cases (performance, Resiliency, Guardrails, Backwards compatibility).
  • Logging defects and coordinating with developers to resolve them.
  • Setting up and maintaining test data.
  • Working closely with other teams for cross-functional requirements and collaboration.
  • Participating in design and code reviews.
  • Addressing areas of improvements in the automation framework and workflows.
  • Identifying and implementing QA processes in support of providing quality products.
  • Educating new hires and team members on application, tools, technologies, processes.
  • Following community best practices and team SDLC guidelines.

  • Proven experience in quality assurance and automation.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
