Salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per year

 

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist to join our Cloud Value Engineering team in Porto. As a member of this newly formed team, you will contribute to our distributed global team across European IT hubs and collaborate closely with digital product development, operational services, and management stakeholders around the world.

 

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing cloud service spend at cross-application and individual application scopes using common CFM methods and tooling.
  • Collaborating with our finance team, infrastructure team, and AWS account team to refine methods and tooling, and integrate data flow with financial management.
  • Identifying cost optimization potentials and creating complementary input for decision-makers at corresponding scope.
  • Maintaining daily oversight of cloud spend and preparing weekly and monthly reports for review of Cloud spend.
  • Providing expert knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing and waste management, and tracking progress and success of Cost Optimization activities.
  • Advising and supporting operational teams in implementing CFM guardrails and controls.
  • Supporting product development teams in executing FinOps/DevFinOps activities and optimizing solution designs in product development and operation.
  • Contributing to assembling the big picture of cloud value engineering from a CFM perspective and developing consistent models and advanced strategies.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrable technical expertise in all AWS services, including Cost Explorer, QuickSight dashboard creation, and query operations, as well as AWS Budgets. Knowledge of Google Cloud or MS Azure is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of cloud concepts such as compute services, elasticity, tagging, billing, pricing models, discount options, and cost reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of core financial concepts in cloud computing, including cost showback, cost attribution, forecasting, and amortization.
  • The ability to process and analyze large amounts of financial data using standard tools and query languages.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for integrating and picking up existing financial reporting data and processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for sharing insights and facilitating decision-making.
  • Experience in writing Policy-as-Code and integrating it into delivery pipelines and operational monitoring/controls.
  • For DevFinOps, a sound understanding of software architecture patterns and implementation techniques for cost-effective solutions.
  • For DevFinOps, experience in consulting and onboarding/coaching devops teams into CFM activities.
