Scala Engineers
We're seeking passionate Scala engineers to join our team. As a Scala engineer at Evolution, you will be working on well-designed, scalable systems that utilize modern functional programming approaches. We believe that the functional programming paradigm in Scala results in systems that are easier to build and maintain, and we use modern, pragmatic approaches like Tagless Final and libraries such as Cats and Cats Effect to achieve this.
Your Responsibilities
- Write code that enables our games and related functionality to run smoothly.
- Develop unit and other automated tests to ensure the quality of our code.
- Work efficiently with the development team, including POs, front-end developers, and designers.
- Participate actively in code reviews to ensure high-quality code delivery.
- Own your applications, ensuring they deploy and run 24/7 on our Kubernetes platform with great performance.
- Be ready to invest time in becoming an even better developer.
Requirements
- Passion for Scala and functional programming, with a strong desire to improve your technical skills.
- Proven experience in delivering production software using Scala or comparable experience, such as extensive JVM or Haskell experience.
- Interest in the latest programming trends, including functional and reactive programming.
- Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent.
We Appreciate
- Experience building high-performance clustered systems, modular FP-based architecture, and actor systems.
- Experience with Cats, Scalaz, Cats Effect, ZIO, Monix, Akka Actors, Persistence, Cluster & HTTP, http4s, Tagless Final, and/or Scala.js.
- Experience with Event Sourcing & CQRS.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Cassandra.
