About the Role
PagerDuty is a global leader in digital operations management, empowering teams to drive business forward through the PagerDuty Operations Cloud. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a crucial part in our accounting function, working closely with partners in the Order to Cash cycle.
You will be responsible for performing revenue-related functions, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis at month-end close. This role requires a strong background in Accounting and excellent communication skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment, where we continuously strive to improve our practices to scale with company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently own the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis at month-end close related to Accounts Receivable, Revenue, Deferred Revenue, and Commissions.
- Maintain revenue systems and ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounts receivable and revenue transactions and compliance with company policies.
- Review revenue contracts for compliance with the Company's revenue recognition policy, ASC 606, and internal controls.
- Assist in completing our annual Standalone Selling Price analysis and the related reporting.
- Assist with commission data entry and compensation calculations.
- Assist with booking entries related to capitalized commissions and commission expense/amortization.
- Assist with various reporting requirements, including schedules related to our 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Support system implementations and maintenance.
- Drive to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process and help streamline procedures and improve system efficiencies.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Accounting experience.
- 4+ years experience with ASC 606.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent.
- CPA or equivalent.
- Excellent working knowledge and capabilities in Excel.
