The Role

As a Network Architect inside our Engineering department, you will act as a Solution Architect for new products, services, and technologies in 1GLOBAL. You will be the point of contact towards internal and external customers, working closely with Product and Marketing teams, as well as technical stakeholders and vendors.

Your key responsibilities will include leading the requirements analysis process, refining and clarifying scope, creating documented plans, and implementing solutions. We trust you to design solutions that are fit for purpose, scalable, and reliable, requiring creativity, technical knowledge, decision-making, and strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Iterate with customers (internal and external) and stakeholders to determine technical requirements, risks, impacts, and recommendations
  • Design new consumer and corporate telecom solutions
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define reliable, modular, scalable, and customer-centric solutions, planning and reviewing them
  • Market prospection of new solutions through Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation processes and negotiation with suppliers
  • Follow up on new technology trends in the Telecom industry and identify interesting solutions for the product portfolio
  • Definition and follow-up of company technological evolution roadmaps
  • Document existing technology portfolios and propose recommendations for improvements or alternatives

About the Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex solutions influencing the design of current products and addressing design issues for future products or technologies. You will evolve the engineering maturity to be on par with non-functional and functional state-of-the-art, enhancing, simplifying, and optimizing existing applications and processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Degree in Telecom Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • +8 years working on telecoms, designing and implementing mobile core networks
  • +3 years in a telecom strategy role
  • Excellent understanding of Mobile Networks and its architectures
  • Experience with MVNO architecture(s) and landscape, familiarity with roaming environment, including technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects
  • Solid knowledge of networking principles & protocols, including security
  • Experience in network protocols like MAP, CAMEL, SIGTRAN, DIAMETER, SIP
  • Knowledge and experience of OCS and Gy/Sy interfaces
  • Experience with VoLTE and VoWiFi
  • Experience with LTE, 5G, IMS, IP technologies and protocols
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and virtualization technologies
  • High Level Designs and Low Level Designs, experience developing and presenting internal and external documents
