Job DescriptionThe Nomenclature Analyst will be responsible for customs classification of Airbus engineering systems and tools by assigning tariff codes (HS codes) and accurate descriptions to tangible goods. The classification involves careful analysis of data found in several Airbus databases, including drawings, maintenance manuals, and standards.
The Nomenclature Analyst will require a strong engineering/technical knowledge relating to Airbus aerospace systems of all divisions, allowing support to non-technical stakeholders in the supply chain.
They will manage data needed to perform customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance with customs authorities and securing a smooth flow of goods.
The analyst will work closely with the Financial Systems customs representative to achieve end-to-end digital management of classification data as well as other data required for customs declarations from various departments such as Procurement, Transport-Logistic, Manufacturing, Programs, and Finances.
As part of an integrated team, they will be able to provide support requests for customs classification and other customs data from all Airbus divisions through an internal multinational network of customs experts.
The Nomenclature Analyst will be responsible for reviewing data quality and proposing any applicable updates to the customs Directive A1087 and associated quality documents.
Requirements- A recognized Bachelor or Master degree related to Engineering, preferably aerospace/aeronautical/mechanical, Data Science, Business management, or Law/Trade.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance/planning would be beneficial.
- Ability to learn about customs classification rules.
- Mandatory English language proficiency, with an additional language being advantageous.
- At least 3-5 years of experience.
- Analysis and evaluation skills for national and inter-company cross-border business relationships.
- Proven ability to collaborate with people across geographies, demonstrating teamwork and independent working capabilities, integrity, and ethics.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for establishing credibility and trust among diverse individuals within the company and virtually.
- Outstanding conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills along with high energy levels.
- Creativity, innovation, and anticipation are key skills for this position; critical thinking is essential.
- Awareness and sensitivity to other cultures, with the ability to effectively work with colleagues in other countries and regions, ideally including international and multicultural working and living experiences.
- A self-learner, being self-aware of strengths and weaknesses, open to feedback, and taking steps to improve when necessary.
