Job Description
As a Cloud Engineer at Blip, you will be responsible for building and operating a secure, performant, and cost-effective AWS Cloud Platform. This includes optimizing reliability monitoring and alerting, participating in performance and capacity testing, automating system deployment and operations using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling, maintaining source code and artifact repositories, writing and reviewing platform code, enabling and supporting engineering teams with the adoption of cloud services, triaging incidents, problems, and risks impacting Flutter cloud services, writing and maintaining appropriate technical documentation, defining and documenting Low-Level-Designs (LLDs) for Flutter cloud services, supporting cloud architecture and function leads with an evolving cloud technology roadmap and strategy, acting as a trusted SME offering advice and knowledge sharing to the broader technology team and internal customers, creating and driving adoption of standard operating procedures, policies, and runbooks, facilitating the development and communication of Flutter Group standards for design, development, and deployment, liaising with other group functions, building and maintaining relationships, and recognizing opportunities for strategic collaboration, liaising with third-party vendors and partners, practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
About You
- Mastery in building and operating Infrastructure and Cloud platforms within highly-available AWS environments.
- Optimizing reliability monitoring and alerting.
- Researching and developing new technologies for public cloud deployments.
- Relocating, rehosting, refactoring, and rearchitecting services into AWS.
- Working with source control management (Git, GitHub) and GitOps and CI/CD Pipelines such as Argo or AWS CodePipeline.
- Managing deployment assets such as EC2 AMIs, container images, and artefacts.
- Managing Infrastructure as Code using CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Kubernetes.
- Orchestration and management of container platforms, preferably using Kubernetes.
- Delivering systems in security-compliant environments.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Sharing knowledge with your peers and across the wider engineering community.
- Working in an agile environment.
- Incident, change, problem, and risk management.
