At Smartenergy Group Ag, we are seeking a highly qualified Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our green hydrogen projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety expert to work on innovative projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable energy solutions.
About the Role:
As a Senior Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe design and operation of our green hydrogen facilities. Your primary focus will be on process safety engineering aspects, including the development of safety studies, risk assessments, and hazard analysis. You will work closely with our engineering team to design and implement safe solutions that minimize risks to people, the environment, and assets.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety studies to ensure the safe design and operation of our green hydrogen facilities;
- Develop and review safety-related documentation, including hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety procedures;
- Collaborate with our engineering team to design and implement safe solutions that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
- Manage and maintain our company's safety standards and guidelines;
- Provide guidance and support to other project stakeholders on safety matters;
- Stay up-to-date with relevant technical developments, standards, and regulations in the field of process safety engineering.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field);
- 10+ years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or hydrogen industries;
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting risk assessments, developing safety studies, and designing safety installations;
- Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessments, and occupational safety;
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); and Portuguese is a plus.
