About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Music Teacher to join our team at King's College, Cascais. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music to primary school students, creating a fun and engaging learning environment.

Role Summary: As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate music lessons, incorporating singing, instrument playing, music theory, and movement. You will also develop music appreciation and performance skills through a range of musical styles, genres, and cultural traditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach music to primary school students, creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver music lessons, incorporating singing, instrument playing, music theory, and movement.
  • Develop music appreciation and performance skills through a range of musical styles, genres, and cultural traditions.
  • Foster students' creativity, confidence, and self-expression through music.
  • Organise and lead school performances, concerts, and musical events, encouraging student participation.
  • Integrate technology into music lessons, using digital tools and apps to enhance musical learning and exploration.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Provide individualised feedback to students, encouraging their musical growth and development.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Music Education or a related field with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or British school, with a focus on primary school music education.
  • A passion for teaching music and fostering a love of music in young learners.
  • Experience with a range of musical instruments and vocal training, with the ability to teach music theory and performance.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and apps to support and enhance music learning.
  • Strong classroom management skills, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • A collaborative approach, able to work with colleagues in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to teach in a multicultural, dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to professional development and a passion for innovative teaching practices.
