Job DescriptionAs a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the development, scale-up, registration/validation of drug substance, particle engineering and drug development programs in compliance with legislation and regulatory standards of Quality, HSE and cGMP policies.
You will oversee the manufacturing process for clinical or commercial supplies of materials in cooperation with areas and support safety/hazard analysis and other technical support areas as required.
Promote scientific excellence and innovation in the area and contribute with technical expertise to expand the Intellectual Property, product and technology portfolios.
Follow procedures with clear instructions and work follows an established pattern with a requirement to run standard procedures, analysis, reports or tests.
Perform and record laboratory experiments and undertake processing activities related to the development and improvement of processes.
Rigorously, accurately, efficiently and professionally execute and record all analysis activities in accordance with applicable GMP, quality operational standards/procedures and legal regulations.
Be an advocate for safe operating and high-quality performance, alerting peers and ascending colleagues to any potential risks and suggesting optimizations or improvements.
Develop and accumulate laboratory technical expertise and keep up to date with the latest developments in laboratory methodologies and practices.
Provide an example of professionalism and support the induction and training of new colleagues.
Carry out laboratory experiments including equipment assembly, material dispensing, execution, recording and cleaning.
Take responsibility for all data individually generated and deliver all activities in accordance with Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations.
Work closely and communicate effectively with the area Scientists and interns as well as other internal areas.
Record detailed, legible and accurate checklists, observations, laboratory results and notebooks.
Maintain good hygiene and housekeeping within the laboratory.
Assure routine calibration of designated laboratory instruments and applicable/corrective maintenance actions.
Adhere and support the laboratory schedule in order to achieve an efficient Laboratory operation.
Bring any discrepancies, deviations or non-conformance in testing or work practice to the attention of management.
Propose corrective actions and suggestions for improvements.
Assist with audits/investigations as required.
Follow all annual performance review requirements including completion of the self-assessment.
Undertake any additional tasks commensurate with the role as and when required.
Strive for Right First Time and Productivity in all assigned tasks.
Organize and define daily priorities within their assigned tasks.
Prepare documentation for laboratory work such as instructions and checklists.
Maintain open communication with colleagues identifying and reporting any production HSE quality or other issues to management.
Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner in accordance with instructions and to comply with environmental health & safety rules/procedures regulations and codes of practice.
We are looking to recruit a Candidate with full secondary school qualifications or relevant work experience with comparable setting mandatory and vocational qualification in a relevant chemistry analytical chemistry electronics mechatronics pharmaceutical-related or other science-related field highly desirable.
Formal knowledge or experience of working with laboratory practices theory and techniques is desirable.
Proven practical experience in laboratory work practice is preferable.
Experience in handling chemicals and understanding of the operations for conducting laboratory experiments involving the use of chemicals is preferable.
Good understanding of GMP regulations is preferable.
Numerical capability for simple arithmetic.
Computer literate.
Clear and open communication skills written and verbal.
Competent written and verbal English is highly desirable.
Physical capability to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks.
Must have the Knowledge Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
