Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer Lead to join our team at Miniclip Portugal Studios. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of data engineers to deliver best-in-class data solutions
  • Design and implement solutions with the latest tools and technologies
  • Maintain and learn existing technologies used in the company
  • Advise on, design, develop, maintain, and optimize our BI/DW solution
  • Support the data science/analytics team and other teams to ensure they have the necessary tools to support the growth and success of our games
  • Automate reports and data pulls where necessary
  • Continuously assess and evolve the engineering resource and operational requirements needed to implement the chosen solution
  • Work closely with Product Owners and senior stakeholders to design the Technical Architecture needed for the data platform to meet the requirements of the proposed solution
Requirements
  • Senior Data Engineer with 6+ years in a data engineering role and demonstrable leadership experience
  • Experience in building data warehouses, analytics, and BI infrastructure and tools from scratch, capable of processing large volumes of data and scalable for the future
  • Good knowledge and experience working on AWS
  • Knowledge of Spark is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of Java, Python, Linux shell scripting, and Procedural PL
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with RDBMS
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL (NoSQL database is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of Linux, including a variety of systems performance analysis and tuning metrics; familiarity with networking protocols and optimization practices
  • Commitment to speed iteration, high code quality, and continuous improvement via agile processes, code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • A natural flair for writing structured, object-oriented code and a strong understanding of core computer science (data structures & algorithms)
  • Knowledge of version control and build systems; Git
  • Scientific and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Preferably experience with machine learning
