Mainframe Infrastructure Metrics Engineer

Job Summary

Lancesoft is seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Infrastructure Metrics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining observability solutions to monitor mainframe performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain observability solutions to monitor mainframe performance metrics.
  • Collaborate in development/modification of dashboards and alerts to track system health and performance.
  • Ensure comprehensive visibility into Mainframe system operations and quickly identify issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Mathematics, Finance or another quantitative or related subject.
  • 10+ years of mainframe systems experience with proficiency in performance management for large, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments utilizing z/OS.
  • Proven experience in mainframe performance monitoring, observability, capacity management, and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Cobol, Job Control Language (JCL), DB2, REXX programming.
  • Python and/or Java experience on the mainframe is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Batch Processing and Job Scheduling.
