Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Portugal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of our properties, including preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and overseeing the invoicing process.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintenance of the general ledger, including accurate entries related to property revenue, expenses, and other financial transactions.
  • Management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Record-keeping of fixed asset acquisitions, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Analysis and provision of financial reports to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of accounting experience. Experience in the real estate, hotels or property management sectors is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting, including lease accounting, property tax regulations, and fixed asset management is a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software. Experience with Netsuite is a big plus.
