Job Description: We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our CARE team in Portugal. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing modern web applications, focusing on generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) + LLMs fine tuning, and API integrations. You will work within an agile full-stack talented engineering team, helping to define the architecture of systems and integrations, bringing innovation to the table, and ensuring design docs are up to date.

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience, with experience in designing and developing modern web applications, microservices, and high volume distributed systems. Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Java / Kotlin / Golang / Typescript, is mandatory, and Golang and Kotlin will be considered a plus. Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop modern web applications using generative AI, RAG + LLMs fine tuning, and API integrations.
  • Work within an agile full-stack talented engineering team to define the architecture of systems and integrations.
  • Ensure successful deliveries and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys.
  • Write maintainable code and tests, take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in the production environment, and write useful post-mortems.
  • Help and mentor other developers, ensure high-quality code using best practices such as code review and pair programming.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in designing and developing modern web applications, microservices, and high volume distributed systems.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Java / Kotlin / Golang / Typescript.
  • Golang and Kotlin will be considered a plus.
